What We Mean When We Say “All Are Welcome” at Hill Country UMC

At Hill Country United Methodist Church, “All Are Welcome” isn’t a slogan—it’s a reflection of the way Jesus welcomed everyone, especially those the world often left out. Every time He welcomed an outsider, embraced the hurting, and challenged the religious status quo, He showed us the heart of God: one of grace, mercy, and radical love.

We aim to reflect that same spirit today. Whether you’re a lifelong believer, someone with more questions than answers, or a person who’s been hurt by church before, you belong here.

A Community Without Judgment

We know the Church hasn’t always lived up to the invitation Christ extended to everyone. That’s why we’re intentional about fostering a space where judgment is replaced by grace, and shame is traded for healing.

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged...”
— Matthew 7:1-2 (NIV)

We’re not here to keep score. We’re here to walk alongside one another as we learn, grow, and become more like Jesus – imperfectly but sincerely.

Where Two or More Are Gathered

At Hill Country UMC, “welcome” isn’t just for Sunday mornings. It’s in our small groups, our service projects, our youth ministries, and our casual Drum Circles. Every gathering is a sacred opportunity to experience God’s presence through each other.

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
— Matthew 18:20 (NIV)

No matter your age, background, political views, or past experiences, when we gather in Jesus’ name, we all become part of something holy.

What “All Are Welcome” Really Means

This isn’t just a tagline—it’s a theology.

  • You don’t have to look, think, or act a certain way to be accepted.
  • You’re free to bring your full story, without fear or pretense.
  • You are seen, loved, and valued as God’s creation.

Come As You Are, And Grow With Us

We’re not a perfect church. But we’re trying to follow a perfect Savior who modeled inclusion at every turn. So come sit with us. Sing with us. Ask questions with us. Serve with us. Heal with us.

There is room for you here. And not just in the pew—but in the story God is still writing through this church community.
